City to city, door to door

A long journey is where a private car earns its money. No changes at Temple Meads, no rail replacement bus, no hunting for a seat with your suitcase on your knees. One vehicle, one driver, your door to their door — and for two or more people travelling together it often costs less than the train.

Destinations

The list above covers the routes we drive most often, each with its own page and its own fixed price. It is not a limit: we take bookings to anywhere in England, Wales and Scotland. If your destination is not listed, send it to us and we will quote it.

Why people choose a car over the train

Three reasons come up again and again. Luggage — golf clubs, a cot, a cello, four suitcases for a fortnight. Time of day — the 04:00 start or the 01:00 finish when nothing is running. And company — a family of four or a team of six travelling together, where the fixed fare for the vehicle undercuts four or six advance singles.

What is included in a long-distance fare

The vehicle, the driver and the mileage, quoted as one figure before you commit and unaffected by the traffic on the day. Luggage carried in the boot is never charged for. The extras that can apply are set out plainly in our terms: waiting time beyond the allowance, a child seat at £15, and any parking you ask the driver to pay for. Nothing else appears on the fare.

Comfort on a three-hour drive

Long routes go out in vehicles chosen for the distance: air conditioning that works, seats that still have their shape, charging for your phone and a boot that closes over the luggage rather than on it. Ask for a comfort stop when you book a journey over two hours and the driver will plan one into the schedule.

Business travel and repeat journeys

If you make the same trip regularly — a Bristol to London board meeting, a weekly site visit in Birmingham — open a business account. You get priority dispatch, one monthly invoice instead of a folder of receipts, and named drivers who already know where your office car park entrance is.
